NOTE TO PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS:

This page is part of the actual draft page used to create the videos for this project. This page was posted for our clients to review the video in progress. They provided feedback via e-mail, and we were able to make changes within minutes. This allows us to truly collaborate on the fulfillment of your vision.

REVISED SEGMENT: THURSDAY, FEB 11, 2010

NOTES: I made two changes to the 2010 ISA video per the committee's request. The first one was to take out the line making reference to 'King David School' in Bernick's part, as the name has since changed. It was just a simple edit.

The other revision was a bit more major and posted below. I revised Sperber's segment to begin after 'The Great One' comment, so that the list of positive attributes is still there. I ended the clip after he states that he likes to be in charge, as I think that's a testament to his leadership. I seamlessly spliced in a clip where Herb talks about how LL's greatest skill is getting people to give. It's an effective end.

Those were the only changes I was instructed to make for both videos, so now I will be in the process of scoring and tweaking them. Expect another draft on Monday, Feb 15th. Thank you for the kind words and positive feedback!

INITIAL POST: WEDNESDAY, FEB 10, 2010

NOTE - I would suggest reading the video notes prior to watching each video. Please note that these are draft quality - final drafts are in full DV resolution format

Intitial video notes: Both videos are in what I would consider final raw draft form, meaning that I don't plan to add anything footage-wise. I sifted through two and a half hours of footage with 9 total individuals, shot in a week and a half- that is 150 minutes of footage for approximately 10 minutes of video total. I kept two things in mind- the fact that the primary goal of the video is to provide some insight into the personalities and characters of each recipient, and that the secondary goal (though equally important) is to showcase the JCC and its role with children and the community. I kept in mind the 3-5 minute time frame and went towards the end of that range, with the understanding that it's easier to trim things down when revising. Please note that the videos are not scored yet. Subtle instrumental music will be added after the dialogue has been finalized.

I am very happy with how the project turned out. Both recepients are very deserving and they picked people that shared great insights. I feel that having those two objectives clearly in mind going into the filming and editing process helped shape the final product, and I feel that these two videos definitely showcase each indivduals' personalities while at the same time making a case for the JCC (and the beauty is that the case comes from the mouths of each of the recipents!).

I would now like to solicit feedback from you in order to prepare the final versions. Once we're fine with the content, the next piece will be the music. I'd like to get your feedback as soon as possible so I can finalize music over the weekend and post another draft for you to review. You can send me your comments at psc@dwcvideo.com, and please make sure that you copy the other members of the commitee so we are clear on everyone's opinions and feedback. I thank you for being such helpful and accomodating clients and look forward to delivering a finished product we can all be proud of.
